We will organise a free virtual blog writing training for KAUTE’s grant recipients in the beginning of autumn 2022. The free training will be held in English and open for all grant recipients.
Training schedule
17 AUG AT 9–11 AM: TRAINING SESSION 1
In the first part of the training, you will learn the basics of popular writing for non-academic audiences: how to choose a topic and a point of view, how to structure your text, how to title your text, and how to use accessible language that is easy to understand.
WRITING EXERCISE (17–28 AUG)
The best way to learn how to write is by writing! In the second part of the training, you will write a blog text about your research and get personal feedback on your text. In this part you get to try out the tips and tools that you learned in the first part of the training. You can write your text either in English or Finnish, and it needs to be submitted for feedback by 28 Aug at the latest.
14 SEP AT 9–11 AM: TRAINING SESSION 2
In this second training session, we will discuss your texts and the feedback with examples and dive deeper into the themes of the last training to learn what makes a good blog text. The finished blog texts will be published on KAUTE’s website as part of the Researcher Blog series.
You can either sign up for the whole training or only for the first training session. For the whole training we’ll take max. 15 participants. In addition, there are 10 extra places for the first training session.
Both sessions will be arranged online via video conferencing tool. Trainings will be held by communications specialists from Kaskas.
