The KAUTE Foundation’s general grant call of spring 2024 a total of 611,000 euros was granted to 29 researchers in business and technical fields. The grants were awarded for research work, among other things, research on responsible business conduct and research to promote heart health and democracy.
“The quality of the applications was once again very high,” says Tuomas Olkku, CEO of the KAUTE Foundation. He reviewed each of the 391 received applications. Of these, a positive grant decision was sent to 7.4 percent at the beginning of May.
In the spring 2024 grant call, 274,000 euros were distributed to 13 researchers in the technical field and 246,000 euros to 12 researchers in business studies. In addition, 91,000 euros were allocated to research in other areas important for the foundation’s objectives. According to the foundation’s policy, grants are primarily awarded for research, but support was also provided for the development of teaching.
“Funding was awarded for research across a wide range of topics. However, almost every funded research project related to the foundation’s strategic themes: solutions that accelerate sustainability transition, digitalization, and topics where these two intersect,” Olkku says.
The goal of the KAUTE Foundation is to support research that helps Finnish society renew itself economically, socially, and ecologically sustainably. “By supporting this type of research, we believe we are promoting fair change towards a more sustainable tomorrow in every way,” Olkku concludes.
