KAUTE Foundation Grants Over €700,000 to Transformative Research

In its Spring 2025 general grant call, the KAUTE Foundation awarded a total of €706,500 to 34 researchers in the fields of business and technical sciences. The grants support research on topics such as sustainable development and the circular economy, projects that promote well-being and health, as well as studies on artificial intelligence and digital transformation.

The January call attracted nearly 500 applications. After careful evaluation, the foundation’s experts recommended funding for 34 researchers.

“The funded applications reflect the foundation’s strategic priorities, such as solutions required for the sustainability transition and responsible digitalisation. Seven of the funded projects were continued grants, which highlights the foundation’s commitment to supporting researchers as their work progresses as expected,” says Tuomas Olkku, the Executive Director of the KAUTE Foundation.

The total amount awarded increased by nearly €100,000 from the previous year, reaching €706,500. The high quality of the applications once again demonstrates the excellence of business and technical research conducted in Finland. In line with the foundation’s guidelines, the grants were primarily awarded for research, but some initiatives focused on educational development were also supported.

The KAUTE Foundation aims to support research that helps Finnish society renew itself in an economically, socially, and ecologically sustainable way.
