Postdocs in Companies and Tutkijat maailmalle grant decisions are published

Tutkijat maailmalle program supports researchers to conduct research at a high-level foreign university or research institute. Postdocs in Companies is a matchmaking program supporting strategic renewal of companies and employment of young doctors in the private sector.

In the spring of 2021, a total of 48 applications were received for the Tutkijat maailmalle program. Together with the Foundation of Economic Education and the Walter Ahlström Foundation, we awarded a total of 327,228 euros to 15 applicants. Funding could therefore be awarded to about a third of the applicants.

The KAUTE Foundation awarded 106,700 euros to a total of four researchers. With the funding, the researchers will go on a research visit to the University of Maynooth in Ireland, the University of Paderborn in Germany, as well as Stanford University and the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in the United States.

In the Postdocs in Companies program, a total of 19 new doctoral and company cooperation projects were funded in the spring of 2021. The program’s spring application round attracted a record number of 39 applications. 

Within the program, KAUTE Foundation awarded funding for one joint project between a researcher and a company. Esko Heinonen from the University of Jyväskylä received funding for a mathematical optimization of distributed energy storages project in Elisa Corporation.
